I found something I want to try different for potting plants and in flower bed, I saw this ideal, but this day n time things are called different than what I always called them.organic matter,clay loam,& sharp sand.

I would say clay loam is a misture of clay and loam. Clay has good water retention, but then so does loam..Sharp sand is just that sand. It would be used in the mixture for drainage in case the clay loam holds too much water in which your plants would probably die from lack of air. More plants are killed by over watering than drying out
