I been there done that. there is no easy way but if it has to happen just leave explain to the kids you are no leaving them just their mom/dad.. kids adjust better than we think. mine was 8 and 16 when i ask my husband to leave. we had to move into another home but the kids adjusted pretty well .. don't let people talk you in to staying because of the kids, i am sure they would much rather see you happy away from home than miserable at home kid know whats going on they aren't stupid..

Fess up to her that it is not working, don't stay in it 'because of the child', it will only hurt the child!!! The damage done is not worth the effort of staying together.

tell them you want to part, and decide who is leaving, look after the childs best interests

be truthful.. and go.. but keep in mind your divorcing your partner not your child..

so still be a parent
