Hi, I have an electric shower Triton T200E which has its power pack in the loft ( which heats the water) and remote panel in the shower cubicle with all the normal shower controls is showing low pressure warning light and I have noticed that it has an overflow pipe from where the water is coming out ( which is going to the waste pipe) when the shower is switched on. Is it safe to use as the pressure is very low and it is not very good without the good pressure. Could it be an air lock in the system and what can be done to resolve it. Thanks.

We had the same model at our old house.
The PRD ( pressure relief device ) has operated it consists of a hard plastic ball inside a narrow tube fitted to the bottom of the heater cylinder.( in the loft or remote area )
When subjected to overpressure this ball pops out of position and down the tube you describe, letting out the water.
You need to descale the shower head / thermostatic valve in the shower unit ( this needs to be unscrewed in the shower cubicle)
Fill the cylinder with descaler and leave overnight.
Do the same with the thermostatic valve.
Do the same with the shower head and replace the hose if neccessary.
If this does not work you may have scale in the plastic downpipe to the head / thermostatic valve.
This model is now obsolete so you will not be able to buy a new thermostatic valve. This is the only course open to you.
Triton no longer make a model to fit into the hole in the wall.
Good luck

it sounds like the safety valve has blown, i got a triton t100e, the same thing happend. inside the shower there is a heater chamber where the water accumlates and gets heated by an emersion heater, limescale builds up inside this and eventually clogs it then the safety vavle which is a small hole filled with wax blows out and water trickles out of this and prevents the pressure building. mine was a sealed unit that couldnt be repaired, but i took it apart after i replaced it to see how it worked. your problem sounds exactly what happened to me

The pressure relief valve has gone, probably due to the spray head being blocked. You will have to replace or re-place it before using. Check your handbook.
