I can only tell you about my experience...

First the good news...

The basic procedure is quick, you are maybe in there 30 minutes tops. You get a killer prescription of pain killer! Months after, sex is exactly the same, you'll notice no difference.

The bad...

It was the one of the most uncomfortable 10 minutes of my life. They give you a shot, of course, to dull the pain, but the shot itself... far from pain free, my friend. If you had the option of being twilighted I'd recommend it. Then for the next 2 to 3 days it feels like you've been kicked HARD several times square in the nuts. Have you seen the scene in the new James Bond movie? It's kind of like that. And for me personally, there was some occasional discomfort for about 2 to 3 months after.

The surprise...

A year and a half later... I was a father again! YEP! No bull... it somehow reversed itself. The second time they did the procedure on me, they put me under and did it in the hospital operating room. Doc said I was one of the 1 percenters. Just thought you'd ought to know! (FYI - my wife got her tubes tied too after that!)

Absolutely No regrets...

Check out the pictures in my album on my 360 page of Mr. Miracle boy. No question, my Nathan was a prime example that you may have your own plans, but God still has his!

Good luck and God Bless.

She is correct. A vasectomy is the most cost effective form of birth control.

If you got a vasectomy on Friday, you would be back to work on Monday. You would be fully functional in 4 days. A vasectomy is quick and simple.

If your wife chooses to get female sterilization, she would be off work for at least 3 weeks, and not fully functional for about three weeks after that. The surgery is much more involved.

In what way is it taking your manhood? Grow up. Had you planned on going around knocking up other women. Manhood is about responsibility, and not about your ability to knock up a woman.

I had mine when I was 21. I am over 40 now. The vasectomy was the greatest choice I ever made. My sex life improved. Why, because I never worry about getting anyone pregnant. I have no scar, and have never suffered any side effects at all. I know a dozen other men that can tell you exactly the same.

Honestly, if a vasectomy was robbing you of your manhood, why would millions of men be getting them?

Some men have problems. But that is only psychological. A vasectomy can’t physically harm you. It is no more traumatic than a trip to the dentist, or getting a tattoo.

If you two don't want any more kids then go for it. It Will not effect your sex life, in fact once you have it done you will find your sex life will enhance. But be sure both of you are not in to child bearing time. Not a good idea to have it done during that time. Another thing is to watch out for is the psychological effect it may have on you as a man. With a vasectomy you can not get other women pregnant so that worry is removed from your mind. You will not notice a difference in your love making so be sure you marriage can handle it. You don't stray because of fear of getting someone else pregnant. Just some things to consider, on your part and your wife's part.

It is always less painful and easier for guys to do this instead of their wives getting their tubes tied. Im assuming you have kids already but a woman go thru periods and childbirth that is the least you can do and even a doc will tell ya that it ain't nothing for a vasectomy but their are risks with tube tying and its more painful. Also if you do get one keep in mind you still have good sperm for 28 days, so your wife could still get pregnant 28 days following.

surgical procedures: vasectomy (to block the vas deferens tubes that carry sperm) in men and tubal ligation (blocking the fallopian tubes that transport eggs) in women. These are extremely effective birth control methods.

Like all surgery, there are some risks, but they are rare in both procedures. Tubal ligation is relatively expensive (over $1000); vasectomy is somewhat less expensive. Both of these procedures are surgically reversible (an expensive procedure) with relatively high success rates. Neither of these methods, however, prevents the spread of STDs or HIV.

You are not losing any manhood. YOu are getting 2 tubes snipped and tied off that are much easier to get to than slitting your wife's body open and putting her throught general anesthesia. You still will function the same and your wife will bemore relaxed knowing she cannot get pregnant - which means you may get more and better sex. Just get over yourself and you will be ready to roll in no time.

It doesn't actually change anything really, exept you will be shooting blanks instead. You will still be able to come, and you will still be able to do everything you can now.
They cut or tie it between the testes and the part where the actual semen is located. It just stops the sperm getting into it.

If this is going to be your last pregnancy together do it....women who have c-sections and hysterectomies have many more female problems. the recovery time is also shorter, much shorter, for you. Also, to get it reversed would be cheaper for you if ya'll decided to have more children
