I've heard alot of talk about Michigan winning the national championship, but after last year how can anyone say that. 41-14 anyone. Also Michigan got blown out by USC. So am I crazy or what?

Why not compare them to those two games gman. The other ones were against themselves. Why compare the Big 10 with the Big10. Everyone creamed Notre Dame, so I dont know what you want me to look at. I bought into the Ohio State hype early on, but after watching the Ohio State Michigan game, I came away bored and unimpressed. They are slower, weaker, and less inventive. I just do not like the conference and I think they will lose in any major bowl they play in.

Don't pull the whole layoff garbage. It's their fault they want to play less games, its the conferences fault they don't play a conference championship game. So I don't want to hear it. Another reason they don't diserve to go its unfair to the Big 12 and SEC.

I can say after last year because again I will not compare the Big 10 with the Big 10. In out of conference games the Big 10 was last. And they didn't beat a quality opponent out of their conference. What good running backs besides Hart are in the Big 10. USC spanked them. They return a few guys but so does USC, LSU, Florida, Auburn, Oklahoma, Texas, etc. So out of all those teams including Michigan. I put Michigan last.

My main point about the Big 10 is this. Look at recruiting. Michigan's best player was a four star and came to LSU. The rest of the Big 10 states do not have very good players. USC has a good stock in California. California has the most players in the NFL. Texas has the number two. LSU, Oklahoma, and Texas pull from that state. Louisiana has the fith most, with the least population of all the states in the top 5. Florida is number three. A good deal of players from Florida go all through out the SEC. Also SEC has the most players in the NFL. So its simple their is no debate. By the way no Big Ten team was in the top 10 in recruiting, nor was any Big Ten state in the top ten of states with the most NFL players. So to me it's simple, they just don't have the talent.

Michigan can't win the big games when they need to. Michigan got beat by Ohio State AND got blown out in the Rose Bowl against USC. Wisconsin will be the best team in the Big Ten next year. They're bringing almost everybody back and they're looking to redeem themselves after being the best team to not make a BCS Bowl due to the 2 team per conference rule.
Ohio State lost their starting RB, QB, and 2 WR's to the NFL Draft. Michigan can't win the big games. Wisconsin will be the top team in that conference and with the talent pouring out of the SEC....they don't even compare.
The SEC is by far the best conference. Not only do they have returning champs in Florida, but they had 6 teams in their conference alone that was in the Top 10 in recruiting. McFadden is returning to Arkansas and even perennial bottom-feeder Kentucky made and WON the Music City Bowl. Outside of the Big Ten's top 3 teams, there isn't much there.

The Big Ten as a whole from top to bottom was not very strong last year. Atop the league Ohio State, Michigan and Wisconsin all finished up high in the polls at the end of the season. Probably all three deserved their ranking.
But the rest of the Big Ten programs seemed to be rebuilding this year. Penn St, Iowa, Minnesota and Purdue have been much better in previous seasons. And Michigan St. self-destructed again last year.
Indiana, Northwestern, Illinois (improving) were the doormats once again.
There can be no dispute that the SEC is the best conference top to bottom there is. Top quality college teams consistently like Florida, Auburn, LSU, Tennessee, Georgia and improving teams like Arkansas and South Carolina. Good luck Saban.

Hey buddy, the SEC is the best conference in college football, but that doesn't mean that the Big Ten is overrated, and it doesn't mean that the Michigan Wolverines are a bad team!
The Big Ten had three teams finish in the top ten, had more All-Americans then any other conference, and had the Heisman Trophy winner! The Big Ten was awesome in 2006, and they will rule again in 2007!
As for Michigan, how can you say "but after last year" when they went 11-2, finished No.8 in the country, and had the nations number 1 ranked run defense? They return ALL of their offensive stars from last years, and have plenty of stars on defense as well. They will finish in the top 5 in 2007, and I'm gonna go out on a limb and say that they will win the National Championship!

How can you not say Michigan does not have a chance at the national title?
They return Chad Henne, Mike Hart, Mario Manningham, and Jake Long. Their line is intact with still a pretty solid defense. One game the year before means absolutely nothing. And I still don't care what you say, when a team has two extra weeks off it is a major blow. That was two weeks wondering what game film to look at, unsure on what to practice against, two weeks of probably doing nothing but focusing on school. Last year is over. This is a new year.
You can't compare these conferences. They are completely different. SEC is fast, really fast. Big Ten is power, very powerful. SEC is flashy. Big Ten is a run and grind out the yardage. SEC and Big Ten can't be compared. Both have great schools, but one game does not prove anything. I am a diehard Michigan fan, but I will never say the SEC nor the Big Ten is better than the other. The SEC only beat one Big Ten team this entire year. Yeah it was the national title, but the Big Ten beat 3 SEC teams I believe. They are both great conferences. Just can't wait till next season with probably another SEC vs Big Ten national title game.

Yes. The top two big 10 teams got blown out. I think i was the only one in eastern nc that knew florida would blow out ohio state and that usc would blow out michigan. Just take a look at the big 10's bowl record. it's something like 2-5. Troy Smith was a decent athlete in the most overrated conference making him seem as if he was great. I belive that florida and usc should've played in the championship game last year and usc would win on a last second field goal by Mario Danelo. RIP Danelo

the sec may have been better last year but the big ten's not overrated
michigan narrowly lost to osu and played IMO their wors game of the year in the Rose Bowl, as did OSU in the national championship.
things happen, but throw in penn state, wisconsin, and a couple seasonally good teams and it's still an excellent conference
just because the SEC 1-upped them this year doesn't mean they're overrated

the big 10 may have had a down year last year but so did the big 12 and the pac 10 (they do every year)
the big 10 is going to be alot better this coming year
and I don't think you can just judge the whole conference on just the one or 2 games

Massively overrated. Eight really bad teams in that conference, and Wisconsin was 12-1 only due to one of the weakest schedules in the country. Michigan will win the Big Ten in 2007 by default.
