Call the Community Theatre and the Drama Department of the University in Sacaramento and ask if they can recommend acting classes.

My cousin is in the business of acting/theatre she told me this a couple of days ago:
Dont go through Proscout or any type of thing like that. Its a waste of money and all they are going to do is ask you to move out to NY or L.A. They say not to do local stuff but you must
check in your phone book under talent agencies their should be a listing and some have websites. or look it up on google in your area. Look into serveral agencies not just one.
note: the agency should NOT charge you ANYTHING. They should PAY YOU. Esablish a good relashionship with them and if you decide to move out to LA they should give you good reccomendations to agents. (remember they want you to be able to say: I got started at "blah blah".) Also if you do make it to LA if you get in touch wiht the right ppl you wont have to pay a cent.
