Then why is Atty General Gonzalez "too busy" to give Congress documents it requests?
Why have the numbers of documents made Classified by the government at least doubled since Bush took office?
And why has the backlog of unfulfilled Freedom of Information Requests jumped by more than three times in the last two years?
Nothing to hide Mr President? You think it's ok to listen in on us, read our email, see our credit card purchases, monitor our web surfing, jail us and strip us of our right to due process if YOU think we might be terrorists, force us into free speech zones to protest, and you even want to see what books we check out at the library?
Do as I say, and not as I do huh? Jerk.

I heard Rachel Maddow (radio talk show host) say it like this; The Bush administration is so secretive that even when it doesn't offer additional security, it always makes them less accountable.

1. Maybe Congress is asking only for documents to undermine the presidents authority.
2. We are at war, remember? I am glad documents relating to the security of our nation are being protected from the left-wing media and, as a by-product, kept out of the hands of our enemies.
3. See # 2
4. So far, not one of my friends, aquaintances, co-workers, relatives, or neighbors has had their phone tapped, their mail read, their web surfing monitored, their voices suppressed or their rights to due process compromised. I would wager you couldn't find a single person to experience any of that. Unless, of course, you look to the enemy at the gates trying to attack us here in our own backyard.
Do as I say, not as I do? HA! Remember Sandy Berger? Caught red-handed stealing sensitive documents from the National Archive and all he got was a slap on the wrist. Where was the outrage there?

Probably for the same reason Kerry talked so much about his decorated war record but never got around to releasing the paper so we could read about it for ourselves. And how come this is the only place I've heard about this?
