I have 2 goldfish in a tank, but I'm looking to make the aqarium more...interesting. Any ideas on what other kinds of pets I can add to the tank?

You can't really keep any other kind of fish with goldfish because goldfish are cold water fish and other fish need warmer water. Plus, goldfish need a lot of space in an aquarium because of the high levels of ammonia they produce and you probably don't have room to add more fish. For two goldfish, you should have at least, the minimum of a 20 gallon tank. If you had a 25-30 gallon tank, you could add a small bottom feeder, such as a octocinclus catfish.

Definitely not snails, those things multiply and cover your entire tank. The best persoon to ask is a pet store owner. There are many fish that fight or eat eachother, and goldfish certainly don't have many defenses.

If you really want to make it interesitng, i recommend pirranhas. At least it will be interesting for like, 10 seconds.

If your tank is at least 10 gal. try guppies. I've seen goldfish & guppies do very well together. Definitely DO NOT get snails. They are boring & take over like the plague.

Goldfish are dirty so a fish that cleans the tank would be a added bonus!
