Question Details: when i was 15 i dated this guy from another school.. we were only together for 2 weeks, and believe me, i was and still am the most innocent girl ever... nothing major ever happened between us. for 3 years after, he and i stayed best friends until he went into the army and took off for germany when i was 18... i hadn't seen or heard from him since then... i am now 25 and through the majic of myspace, i have found him again... he and his wife andme and my hubby have become really good friends... and his wife and i have gotten really close, however, she never knew or asked how i knew her husband. so tonight, she and i were out with some friends having some drinks, and stupid me thought it would be a great idea to let her know the truth, cause i am a good friend... however, it was really bad timing and she is a VERY jealous person and i know that.. she was pissed at first, but shes not mad at me anymore, but i am sure she is gonna tear her hubby a new butt hole... i think its silly.

i told my husband, who used to be jealous but has since grown up... he totally didnt care.. he likes her hubby and i like her... was i wrong to say anything? should i have just kept it to myself or was i being a good, honest, and truthful friend by telling her, even though technically, i should be loyal to her hubby since he's the one i have always been friends with?

She is prolly mad, cuase she felt like this was something she shouldve been told at the very first, and may feel slightly betrayed. Some people are just like that. I do not see how you did anything wrong, except for bad timing lol. She will get over it, and hopefully your friend is a sensitive guy with a lot of patience.

If she didn't press for the answer, I wouldn't have said anything.
Knowing of her jealous nature, you know it would have pushed her buttons.
You were incorrect in revealing the truth.
Yes you are probably a good person, and grounded, but she might not be in the same place in her life.
You don't live in their marriage and have no idea what her jealousy stems from.
There could be a lot of things going on between them......
Sometimes it is better to leave well enough alone and don't elaborate until pushed hard for the answer....
You blooped here, my dear.....

No. Your closest friend is your Hubby. Her closest friend is HER Hubby. And if Her Hubby didn't tell her that you two dated then You should Not have told her Either!! I think you set off her alarm and she thinks you are a threat to her now. (I'm guessing) She may get over it, but you Did Set Off Her Alarm!! Tell her you never meant anything to him and you were stupid to have even mentioned it.

This actually happened to me after I got married. We hung around his married friends and one day the wife admitted she had dated my husband and she was always hurt that he had never called her back!! That spelled desire and insecurity to me and I pulled out and took my Hubby with ME!!!! @80)

You did the right thing! Why hold it in? it would have only made it worst and feeling like the two of you were holding a secret back from your spouses. I think it would have been more upsetting to hear this confessions 5 years down the road.

You shouldn't have said anything. The truth hurts sometimes. You should find out from her if she still wants to be friends with you. If not, then leave the happy couple as you found them, happy.
