self obsorbed and cocky. do they all only care about themselves and lifting weights or football? please tell me theres a guy out there who actually has thoughts????

Oh Sara, the never ending dilemma. How to find a strong, good looking, nice guy with brains!
The self absorbed cocky guys who are good looking and focused on football and weightlifting are the one's you and the other girls notice. What you aren't seeing is the majority of boys that are nice guys just doing their thing.
My son is a perfect example. He's not one of the school studs, but he's a nice kid with brains. I asked him about girlfriends and he said there aren't a lot of girls interested in the guys in the AP and honors classes! He's got a great sense of humor, so the way he expressed the dilemma made me laugh.
Do you want flash or substance? Not everyone can have both!
Open your eyes and your mind and you'll see a lot of guys that have brains, humor, and heart that aren't on the self-absorbed cocky dumbass list. The question then becomes, are you really looking for substance or are you stuck on the packaging, the box, the toy comes in?

Yep. There are those who care not about weights and football. There are some that would rather read all the works of David Eddings, the Bible, or other literature (not Sports Illustrated). There are those that are enthalled by art. Many are into other sports where brawn doesn't matter. But, in high school, most of these guys are not considered cool, because they generally aren't part of the "in" crowd of egocentric jocks and rah-rahs. They will likely be more successful later, though, and not stuck driving the same 1995 Mustang they did in high school when they are 30. Look around.

Most guys are truly insecure and there "cocky" behavoir is such an obvious attempt, or in your case not so obvious, way of covering up how inferior they feel. Trust me on this one. If you know anything about human behavoir, they are acting out in defense. These are the same guys who always question the whereabouts of their girlfriend/wife (insecure) . Trust me, take if from somebody who knows a little something about people, and has many female friends that attest to how guys act. Cocky is not confidence, its the complete opposite. If they were really secure with themselves, they truly would not care how they were percieved by others, hence the need to act cocky, and obsess with working out.

All all women petty and materialistic? Do they all just love shopping and shoes?
I'm sure you wouldn't be too happy if you heard a guy say those things about women. What you just said are some classical stereotypes. Sure there are plenty of guys like that in the world, but there are plenty more who are completely different. It would appear that you've just been looking in the wrong places.

Not all men are like that. My husband isnt, you just have to be patient and wait for the right one to come along. But dont keep that state of mind thinking all men are like that, because if you keep that negative spirit, then you will never allow a man to walk into your life.

Just all the good looking ones, why not try an ugly one for a change?LOL i had to say that.No, you have to get to know people.Not all of them are like that, but a lot this day and time are.The girls are just as bad, but their intrest are usually other things than sports or bodybuilding, with girls its usually tearing down a girl they are jealous of, or trying to control,manipulate and change their boyfirends into soemthing they arent.Hang in there.

Yes, actually there ARE guys out there that think about more than what you have listed. Kind of stereotyping men I think.
I think that it is a matter of maturity. You just need to date more mature guys.

However, I have had women that really upset me.
I tried to be all kind, romantic, loving, only got my heart ripped out.
