Sarah there is a free software program avainlable on the net called wavepad which you can download and convert most types of music files to mp3, it just takes a little practice to do. You upload the song ove your choice, then open up a new file under it and copy and paste it into the new box. Its simple when you get the hang of it and if you want a tune you like but you dont want a long winded intro, you can cut and delete parts from it and then save it as an edited file without ruining the original. Its what i use and ive had no bother just go to google and type in wavepad it will take you straight to the sight to download it from

if youre using a pc, it works for me when i change the format from mp3 to wma...they always become smaller for some reason. but it depends if your phone would support wma. i have a nokia 7373 and they play fine. with images, you can change the size using most photo software (ie photoshop etc) but generally smaller size=worse quality. :)

depends what kind of files.
if image files, you could put them on your pc and use something like photoshop to shrink them.
if mp3 you could do the same thing using audio software.
