Other than by the actual politicians I believe that Liberals and Conservatives are pretty close on illegal immigration.

I USED to agree with a number of things. I don't know what has happened to the Republican party-Coulter, evangelicals, Rush Limbaugh.

I once admired the following:

Smaller government-but now they have created more new governmental entities than almost any time in history-although they still pretend they're for small government

Fiscal conservatism: the idea that government spending should not exceed revenue. Today, deficit spending as well as foreign ownership of our debt has increased as a breakneck speed under Republican Presidents and Congress-makes the Dems look frugal. How did that happen?

The Republicans once had more in common with Libertarians tan Dems-but no more. This administration is intent on usurping states rights at every turn and uses "national security issues" to peek legally into our bedrooms and erode constitutional rights.

You might want to ask, Hey, Where did my party go?

Rather than give you a list - it's often the case that 'liberals' and 'conservatives' agree about ends but disagree about the means for achieving them. It's also the case that if you poll Americans about whether they agree with individual ideas that come from the 'liberal' end of the spectrum they'll agree with them, but will nonetheless describe them as 'conservative.'

The past few years, however, have seen a rather disturbing divergence between liberals and conservatives about the ends as well as the means - for example about the value of encouraging social mobility and/or reducing poverty, the tolerance or otherwise of gays, and so on.

I know quite a few conservatives and we agree on some things... but, it's different with any particular one of them. Not ALL Liberals agree on everything. Not ALL conservative agree on everything. That's just the way it is. It might surprise you to find out who you actually have common ground with.

Here's a concept you'll need to warm up to: the liberals don't need to agree with the conservatives. The conservatives are in the minority... that is, conservatives are out of the mainstream of America.

America voted to put liberals in charge of running this country because the conservatives were doing a poor job. That means that the conservatives will need to step up and find some common ground if they want to be included in the process of running government.

Your imagination seems to have nudged away the reality that you people aren't in the driver's seat any more. Wake up and join America instead of sitting in the corner crying about a lost election.

If you broaden your scope a little bit, you'll see how much liberals agree with conservatives.

But both of them against a communist, and you'll say that liberal and conservative free-market capitalists are both against most nationalization of property.

Put the communist, the conservative, and the liberal against an anarchist, and the first three are all in support, (to some degree or another), of the existence of the state and similar institutions.

When you live in a box, the right-angle kiddie corner to you can look a lot different than the right-angle you are in.

Speaking for myself, as a Liberal... gay marriage and abortion. I don't often agree with the way Conservatives approach these issues, but I agree that they should be generally opposed, with some exceptions in the case of abortion.

To Tulsa, Oklahoma. There as a great, sturdy conservative presence in Tulsa. What meaning is there is dissimilar easy experience on the line. Oh, and by potential of how, i might somewhat undergo what conservatives help (waterboarding) than what liberals help (abortion).

That at the battle of Tora Bora, where bin Laden was surrounded on three sides, Special Forces received no order to advance and capture him and were forced to stand and watch as two Russian-made helicopters flew into the area where bin Laden was believed hiding, loaded up passengers and returned to Pakistan, demonstrates how confusing the modern battlefield can be.

That upon returning to Fort Bragg from Tora Bora, the same Special Operations troops who had been stood down from capturing bin Laden, suffered a unusual spree of murder/suicides, is nothing more than a series of senseless tragedies.

its not so much the issue but the solutions

both want to improve public schools- not in the same ways
both want to end terrorism- both have different methods
both want to support the troops- support is a broad term

there are more issues both sides support, its just how each side wants to fix issues that causes the fights/disagreements
