No but cops goo all crazy and assume that you're trying to kill someone. Florida Summary: A "common pocketknife" is OK. All "concealed weapons" (knives included) require a license. · Max length: None apparent. · Relevant laws: Chapter 790

You would have to check with the State of Florida. I know in the State of Texas you can carry a pocket knife on you as long as the blade itself does not extend, width wise, past the palm of your hand. However, you're not allowed to carry a pocket knife in to a courthouse nor any city or county offices, such as probation office, police station etc. If a pocket knife is used as a weapon to assault someone it then becomes a deadly weapon whether it is of legal lenth or not. If it is used as self defense then that is another story. Laws vary from state to state and being ignorant of the law will not hold water in a court of law. I would check it out before hand.

Most states have a blade length limit before it is considered a weapon as opposed to a tool. Hunting and fishing knives are technically illegal but tolerated by law enforcement if used in the proper venue. I would not wear a hunting knife downtown. Some communities / states allow exposed (as opposed to concealed) weapons to be carried.

Most states have laws concerning how long a knife can be to be carried without any permission.

Some states say that your blade must be smaller than the palm of your hand. Others have an inch measurement, usually in the under three or under four inches range.

Other places may have laws that limit the locations you can carry a knife, gun or other weapon. For example, schools, hospitals, and places serving liqueur may be a no-no.

Depends on the state. In NJ, as long as it is not in a threatening or unlawfull manner, you can carry it, If it for the job, yes. For protection, no.

In Arizona, a knife must be in the open.
