Us military men past, present and future that given of themselves and many that have died and the others that have emotional and physical scars. Just for the sake of keeping us safe in our beds at night, the ability to walk the streets and have it be free from tyranny, and keeping our wives and daughters pure of repression.
These boys.. If this isn't love for all of us as a whole then nothing else matters.

When it doesn't matter if they tell you that they love you because you already know it perfectly well.

not only in terms of sacrificing one's actual life; but also in the form of putting the loved one before yourself in other aspects of life -- such as a parent dedicating their time and energy to their child and putting them before their own hobbies and interests (unfortunately, too many parents that I see are very self-absorbed, and the children are left unattended and emotionally bereft)

My husband cared for my personal needs when I hurt may back.
I cared for my mom's personal needs when she was at home dying of cancer so dad could rest.
