How do I get items off the Add or Remove Programs list when they were removed the wrong way?

Download Power Toys for Windows XP from Microsoft's site. Just do a search for Power Toys on their site. It has a utility to remove item from the Add/Remove window.

This works on XP only, it will not work on Vista.
