I failed the driving test twice. My instructor was convinced that I was ready to take the test after only having 6 driving hours, during which he sometimes snoozed...
I didn't know how to park (my instructor wouldn't teach me), so that's why I failed the first time. The second time I was so nervous, that when told to pull to the side, I turned so quickly the inspector's little clipboard fell out of his hand. It's funny now, but at the time I was mortified.
The third time around I went with my friend and I passed without a problem. In Chicago on Elston Avenue DMV.
The driving school that I went to is called Amazonas, and it's very cheap, but you get what you pay for.... pretty much nothing. So, new potential drivers beware!

No I didn't fail, but I got in an accident at 5mph for not appropriatly yielding to a pickup that suddenly turned and cut me off from merging back into traffic. Neither of us got a ticket though and she was uninsured. This was exactly 24 hours after my test and right in front of the testing location. Great advise from Spikemode, experiance is key and it's not worth risking your life. Anyway, being from a small town in Wisconsin, you should check the hours of their operation of the closest location. Some are only open certain weeks so if there is one in your local area, check the hours. Otherwise, you'll end up taking the test in a location not as familiar.
Suggestions:
->Brake before the side-walk when coming out of a driveway. Then proceed when clear, it can be an automatic failiure if you don't.
->Brake and come to a complete stop before the stop sign and or white-line, then move forward to asses the intersection. Not doing so can be a considered a rolling stop and will result in deductions at minimal and possible failure.
->Use signals, and check blind spots by turning your head and checking the mirrors when changing lanes or backing up. From an intersection go to the closest lane if possible then change if needed.
->Be aware of which lane goes where this is can be confusing in some cities so keep this in mind to look for overhead signs or on the road. Though you can get docked points for going into the wrong lane, panicing and switching back without checking your areas is not good either. If conditions don't allow you to change back,It maybe better to continue on and explain that you'll have to find an exit point to get back on course.

I failed my drivers test 3 times before I even passed it. All 3 times that I failed it, I had the same instructor on the driving course, and she was crazy mean. There was so much pressure. I aced the written portion, and I did farely well on the driving, my biggest mistake was the parrallel parking. I just couldn't do it with her in the care. I finally, on the fourth time went to another DMV (located in Texas) and got a different person, I got a 97 on the driving portion.
Make sure you are comfortable with your intructor. It is only going to be you and them in there, and they won't let you have anything on. If you fail it is not the end of the world.

I have never failed any driving test. Am currently Class A CDL, (Combination units up to 80,000 lbs.) Current MSHA Pit certified, and holder of 8 straight years of no tickets, no accidents, no violations, or property damage certificates. Over two million miles traveled, with only one preventable in 24 years. Study your drivers manual carefully, practice your neccessary manuvers until you can do them in your sleep, and always be aware of what, and whose around you at all times. Last, and most important... Do not take any chances!!!! If you are not 100% sure that you can easily accomplish the manuver desired, wait until it's safe to do so. It's not worth your life, or someone else's to save a minute here and there. Accidents are just plain a bummer for all involved, and they could take your life! Please be careful, and I wish you the best of luck on your retake!

No one comes close to me.
I failed 3 indiana driving tests and 2 michigan driving tests in 6 months.
indiana law says that if you fail 3 tests you have to wait 6 months to take the test again.... not unless your mother lives in michigan and you can use her address.
whats even better, is when i had to use my current indiana address to get an indiana license after my michigan expired, i failed the written test twice.

Never.
On a side note, I once took a jeep with no doors to a test. They only made me drive around the block because it freaked them out. Quickest driving test ever!
