Who do I call to get electrical cables on my property buried?

The only cables are from the street to our house, and we have three telephone poles along our .2 mile drive way.

You will have to contact the electric company and they will have to send an engineer out to look at the situation. They will tell you what you will need to do before they will put it underground.

Most underground work is done by local electrical contractors. Our company does it, but it cost a good bit of money to do. There are two ways to do it, there is direct burial cable (URD) that you just dig a trench and drop in the ground or you can dig a trench, place PVC Conduit in the ground and then pull wire in the conduit.

As I said, it is not cheap to do this. What about transformers, on a two mile run of wire I expect there is more than one transformer on your two mile run. On underground runs those are usually moved from the pole type to a pedestal mounted transformer. $$$$$$$$.

contact the electric company. they are responsible for buried power cables however they may charge a fee if the lines have to be taken down to be burried

You would probably call whoever the cables or wires belong to, such as the telephone company, electric company, cable company, etc.

The Utility company is responsible up to the meter. But they won't bury it for free. TWO MILES?

Your electric company, they are their lines up to your meter. You need them to either bury them or have them contact a contractor to do it for you, either way will cost you.
