I don't know about Barrow-in-Furness but I'm across the border in Lancashire. Average prices here are about £20 for an hours lesson, I shouldn't think they are much different in Cumbria. Larger schools such as BSM might charge more, smaller private schools might charge less. I paid £19 an hour for my lessons. You can usually pre-pay for a larger block of five lessons and get a slight discount (ie. 5 lessons for £90 instead of 5 individual £20 lessons which is £10 more).

Is anyone left in Barrow? I thought they all went when they closed the shipyard.
Don't know mate, but there was a very good small driving school in Cark in Cartmel a few years ago who had a very high pass rate (around 90%) I believe. It may be a long way though.
