Or will they rotate him in with Colvin and Thomas and draft to fill in the missing linebacker, assuming Seau doesn't come back?

Seau will be back next year...and Thomas himself said at the press conference that he is not there to play a particular position...He is going to understandably play multiple positions...ILB, OLB...Probably some DE if someone goes down...You're talking about a team that, when needed, uses WR Troy Brown as a DB and LB Mike Vrabel as a short yardage WR...and they are good at it...

Thomas will play OLB in that 3-4 scheme. Vrabel and Bruschi will be your ILB's probably with Roosevelt Colvin playing the other OLB.

I really do not get this move though. New England's LB's are not getting younger and Thomas is already 30. Belicheck better draft an LB to learn how to play while Bruschi and company are still there to teach him. They could have use the money they spent on Thomas and gone after a WR like Stallworth. If one of the LB's goes down at the right time for NE, the defense will have problems.

Because Vrabel has been there longer he will not move. Thomas will be their new inside linebacker.

Yes, unless they think Colvin can be a factor in the middle

most likely they will switch on and off vrabel and thomas can both play multiple postitions so they could be anywhere on that field.

Yeah, why wouldn't they. Otherwise It would be a waste to sign Thomas.

GO PATS!
