Hi,
Can anyone help me with this?
I have an LG dvd recorder RH7500,with 80GB hard drive, and have had consistent problems copying from the hard drive to a disc.It just won't initialize the disc for some reason,so I end up filling up the hard drive with stuff I want to put onto discs, and then i'm stuck and have to delete half of it.We have tried cleaning the heads with limited success.Has anyone else had any problems or any ideas how to sort out the problem?
thanks very much

I can't actually burn any films onto the disc as the disc won't initialize. That's where the problem lies.I have tried all different brands but no luck.

It's unfortunately not recognizing any blank discs at all

have you gone in to the other menu, I think its the setup menu for the DVD drive not the hard drive and in that menu there is a option at the bottom that let you initialize the disc so it can be played on other dvd players.

So to recap.
Burn the files/movie etc on to the disc, then goto the setup menu in the DVD mode not the HDD mode and select the bottom option to initialize the disc, think it take a couple of minuties to do so.

If it supports DVD+R for recording I think you don't need to initialize them . Give it a try.

(The spec on a shopping web site claims it supports both +R and -R discs for recording, but check the manual to be sure)
