Has anyone heard any rumors of what Verizon may be doing to compete with the iPhone? Both Verizon and Apple are smart at staying on the cutting edge, so just curious if anyone knows what the iPhone's big competitor will be. I'm not switching back to Cingular just because they have a cool phone.

I'm just a couple months shy of my 2 year contract end with Verizon and I CAN'T WAIT to switch away!

I started with Cingular in 1994, and was with them until 2002. At that time, their coverage in my area wasn't great, and I wanted a family plan, so I went to T-Mobile. Of course Cingular's Family-Share and Rollover minutes started about 2 months after I switched…
T-Mobile's rates were great, but again, their service in my are was spotty, so I switched to Verizon and hated it almost immediately. Of course, shortly after that switch, Cingular and AT&T merged, so I just missed-out again!

As an Apple user since before the first Mac, I am looking forward to the iPhone AND looking forward to going back to Cingular!

Shortly after the iPhone was announced, I read something about a Prada phone in Europe that is similar, so there is competing technology around… I'll see if I can find more info. Yup, it's made by LG, so there will be a US variant soon:

i'd surely get verizon in case you text fabric many times because of the fact in case you get 500 or extra texts a month you could text fabric everybody in the verizon community for loose. yet whilst your a individual who calls human beings extra i'd surely get at&t because of the fact they have the terrific insurance it seems to me the place you reside yet verizon additionally has very good insurance there to. as some distance because of the fact the iphone vs. the blackberry is going the iphone has various equipment faults yet you cant get an iphone at verizon and you may get the two a iphone and blackberry at at&t.
