Actually, I think about it quite often what goes on ten billion miles away: Objects of ice revolve around the sun, like the "planet Xena", as well as pluto, eliminated from planet staus about 8 months ago(?) and the remaining objects in the kuiper belt. Yes thats right: 10 billion miles away is the kuiper belt. If you think thats a good distance away, a lightyear is about 27 trillion miles I recall...so 10 billion miles is about a 1/3 or so of that distance. Not that impressive, considering the great lengths and space between stars and whatnot. If you mean 10 billion lightyears, I also wonder if there is life that far away from us as well. However, thats not the question you asked.

No.... 10 billion light years is another matter indeed. The universe is appromixately 15 billion years old and the farther you are able to see the further back in time one goes. Considering that light travels at a constant- about 5.8 trillion miles a year. If you could witness an event on another planet and the light takes thousands of years to reach you you are indeed seeing it as it was thousands of years ago and not the present time on that particular planet. So you could witness something in the stone age on a particular planet but by the time the light reaches you this planet will have become highly advanced in technological terms.

Occluerx is wrong. 10 Billion miles is way less than one light year. There are 5,000,000,000,000 (five thousand billion) miles in a light year. The nearest star is 4 light years (do the math), so at 10 billion miles there's just dust and maybe a lost comet or two.

The greatest space traveller is yourself you can visit places a billion light years away in a second in your own mind, and that is the only way man will ever achieve these distances

that is a magnificent sentiment yet easily it doesn't artwork. we do not frequently criticize those we do not understand, a minimum of to their face so as that grievance is wasted. right here on Y!A all we would want to guage someone via is the stupid question they wrote so be at liberty to criticize away.. And, finally, we in a great number of cases criticize those all of us understand so all of us understand them properly adequate to have a valid grievance or are jealous adequate of them to have an invalid grievance yet one which extremely stings and makes us sense solid. a minimum of till they get us decrease back. for this reason starts off the feud.

Probably they"ll be sleeping while we are awake and vice versa. A bit boring really unless they're planning to invade Earth...I hope they're not Daleks. A Dalek frightened me once when my Mum took me to see Dr. Who in Lewis' on Deansgate in Manchester. It made me cry. If the Daleks invade I'll probably cry again.

And even farther. As Buzz Lightyear says "To infinity, And Beyond!"
So what is beyond the universe, If it is expanding where, what or when is it expanding into.
Yes It boggles my mind.
