Ivy. No one in my family likes that name, and tells me I should change it because she will get picked on. What do you honestly think about the name??

I think its a lovely name! Its YOUR baby, name her what YOU want. She wont get picked on anymore than anyone else does. Kids pick on eachother for everything, its human nature. Teach her to not be intimidated by others, no matter what they think. My daughter has buck teeth, and gets called beaver (she isnt old enough for braces yet) She just says, yep, and I can build a dam and swim upstream, so no worries. Congratulations on Ivy. If you feel you MUST compomise (I would only do that if the father opposed the name) then perhaps her middle name could be Ivy My family didnt want me to name my child Bridgette-said it sounded like and Irish maid. I took one look at her face, knew she was meant to be a Bridgette, and can't imagine her being any other name

It is pretty I have two nieces named Lilly. I love the name Opal and everyone gives me a hard time about it. I think Ivy is just one of those extraordinary names it isn't unheard of. I do not think she will get picked on, I know a woman who just named her son Apollo, now that name could get picked on. I may be naive but I don't think kids get picked on now a days as much as they used to. Especially girls.

It is a lovely name and if you give her an equally pretty but maybe more common middle name she can have an option as she gets older.....I have many relatives with nice first names that are known by their middle names for various reasons....I still think Ivy is an adorable name!

being made fun of is something to keep in mind when picking names sad to sa. Ivy isnt a common name but isnt unusual either what about a middle name and be careful of what the initials spell

My name is Hyman, understandably I use my nickname 'speedy'. Which however was given to me because my ankles are inverted and I cannot run. Children can be mean but Ivy is a beautiful name and does it really matter what you name her, if she is popular no one will care about her name, if she is a loser than she will get picked on regardless. Here is a Haiku for you to decide:
Ivy grows up walls
Covering Beauty with green
Making it better

Ivy is pretty don't let anyone tell you not to name the baby something. It is your baby you name her what you want. I like original names too and it sounds like you have picked a great one.
Congratulations!!!!

Its sounds very different and beautiful. But at least you have 2 more months to either stick with the name or change it. Good luck.
