Refer to Chapter 20 in this tutorial fron Sun Microsystems.

If you already have knowledge of Web Technologies from Java like JSP, Servlets, JSF etc... then this EJB tutorial should not be a problem.

Well, if you do not have the knowledge of those technologies, I would suggest you to go thru them first, followed by a brief overview of what RMI and CORBA are. These would actually give you a good picture of what EJB is, where to use it and where not!
