First of all , ALL matches are day matches. Secondly, all matches are scheduled for 9.30 am local time, which will be 7:00 pm IST (indian standard time).
hence,
ist session: 700-1030
2nd session : 11:10pm to 2:40 (excluding match presentation , man of the match awards.)
In fact , this is why the Final is on a Saturday.

For Cricket lover like me it is not difficult to awake whole night to watch the matches but a suggestion for you that ten sports will re-telecast highlight of all the matches at 3.00 pm on India time.

No, it does't make any difference. Interested people always adjust according to requirements and situatins in the same manner when they have to catch a long distance train or flight in odd hours at night. So, that is not at all the problem. See, the prime minister and president etc. travel at any time , 4-5 times daily by fast IAF planes (painful journeys)for suddenly made programmes too(sometimes) even in age of 70 + ( imagine their hugh responsibilities and all time practical preparedness).

I have enough difficulty staying awake watching cricket in the middle of the day. Yawn, I'm dropping off just thinking about it.

If it's a day match, you can stay up and watch the beginning
If it's a day - night match you can wake up early and watch the end

"I'd say you're better off watching ice hockey or American football(in other words NON feminine sports where they dont drink tea and eat DAINTY cucumber sandwiches)!!! "

Are they sports where they wear pads? Both are"feminine sports " compared to Rugby League/Union/Aussie Rules. Infact what American sports arn't played by "poofs in pads"? Oh basketball, we have a similar sport called netball, it's a female game. F'en yanks.
