First, though related to the WORD "martial", it does not come from that meaning.
Second, beware of all 'baby name' sorts of books and sites. They have some good material, but also a lot that's very poorly researched, and it's often hard to tell the difference (unless you happen to know the language or history of a particular name well enough). For an example of sloppiness and not co-ordinating answers, note that the sites listed so far provide a series of closely related names, but list rather different meanings for them!
One of the BEST web sites for name meanings -- which rarely falls into the 'baby name' errors-- is behindthename.com
Comparing its pages on "Marcy" and related names. . . the feminine forms (Marcia, Marcella, etc) are derived from the Latin masculine name "Marcus", which itself come from the name of the Roman god Mars.

If you want to go back a bit further, the god Mars was borrowed from the Etruscan God "Maris", who was originally an agricultural god. (Only later did the Romans, influenced by the equivalent Greek god "Ares", transform him into a god of war.) I'm not sure we know what the original Etruscan god's name means.
