No physical invasion caused 911 so how can that solve one? When just the idea of America is hated how can you change that with force, if I force my self in to your home and kill your brother would you start to love me with time?

For things to change for this country, to heel, we need a real person to lead the dissitions of this country people need no longer identify on party lines both demarcates and republicans once they reach positions of power they go with the people who paid to put them there. The common man no longer has a chance because the old money is happy with things just the way it is. Even on most questions I reed here it is a fight instead of a brainstorm. If one thing I’ve learned in life is you can never have too much information and the more you plan the more likely you are to succeed. There is always an option but most of the time people rather recite what they hear rather than try to figure out why they think that way. If you take a differing belief as an attack on what you believe you are scared that you may be wrong.

It wasn't designed to fight terror. It was designed to get the oil supply in Iraq and Afghanistan was to secure the pipeline coming in from Russia. Its for oil, pure and simple.

It has improved our special forces capabilities with General Petraes who wrote the manual for Special Forces in charge in Baghdad. Our forces are FORWARD deployed in Sadr City and Murders are down. We destroyed the Anti-Aricraft Capability that was shooting down our Choppers. We are holding an Iranian Brigadier General of the QUDS force which has gotten the attention of the Iranian Government. We captured a Chemical Bomb making facility run by the friends of OBL that used chlorine and Iranian shaped charges to make a nasty little bomb. Maliki is about to ratify the Hydro-Carbon Bill that will provide income for all Iraqis using petro-dollars and shortly will sack his cabinet to clear out Sadr and Iranian sympathizers. The Surge much to your dislike is WORKING!!!

I'm looking at some of these answers.........Are these jokes?

This is a global war and the dimensions are difficult to truly understand. The part that Iraq plays in the scheme of things is simple:

Both parties believed that by deposing Saddam and replacing his regime with a more reasonable one, they would reduce the number of places that terrorists hang out. In addition, they would create a sort of "magnet" to get terrorists into one place and well, kill them.

Obviously, the plan is a difficult one, but if we don't give in to partisan politics and stick it through, it can be accomplished.

EDIT: Quick question to those that believe that we are in fact creating terrorism by going into Iraq. What country did we invade to cause 9-11?

No more 25,000 dollar grants to parents that brainwash their children into blowing their self and other women and children up
No more geehadist training camps in Iraq

No more oil for food corruption in the UN
No more shooting at airplanes in the no fly zone

Simple. Bin Laden has noticed that if Iraq is allowed to become a functioning democracy, his movement is toast. Freedom flourishing in the Middle East will be the knell for his militant and oppressive ideology. So he has to put all his chips in the pot. That's why Bush is so keen on winning, and liberals are so keen on losing.

The more experience you have with any given thing, the less terrifying and easier to handle it becomes.

The war in Iraq has made much MORE terror, which means that eventually we'll be unfazed by it, and much better at fighting it.

It has not, its making it worst!.... I think there is no other terrorist worst than Bush and he is the one we should be afraid of... I believe Bush should bring all the troups back and should not allow anyone else to go and get kill, but if he really wants to send someone he should send his daughter so he could feel what other parents are feeling to see their children going there..
