id like to buy a laptop for under 500 pounds and if anyone could give me advice on a good manufacturer of a good value for money laptop or a well priced laptop model?? any help gratefully recieved.

We have 2 Acers and are very pleased. They don't look and feel cheap. Look att www.ebuyer.co.uk or you can get a very nice dual core one from comet for £499

I bought a really nice Fujitsu Siemens one just before Christmas for £500 that I am very pleased with and would happily recommend, but I guess it depends exactly what spec you are looking for. I liked the combination of build quality and features the Fujitsu offered, I felt it offered the best value.
The Acer laptops are very cheap but they look and feel cheap. The IBM and Toshiba were nice but for £500 did not offer quite so many features.

I have a Toshiba laptop and that cost me £400 my daughter has a HP laptop and it cost £500 both laptops are very good for the price
