the buttons and the click wheel wont work and i cant turn it off

Press Menu and the Middle Button at the same time for about 15 seconds.

This happened to me one time. It literallyw as stuck and wouldn't reset. I tried the soft reset by holding the middle button-nothing worked. I let the battery run (what choice did I have anyway!) and plugged it in to recharge it, and it was fine.

either let the battery run out or hold the middle and menu buttons at the same time id try the 2nd i first

well when this happend to me i held down the middle button and the menu button for 8 seconds and it resets the ipod so it turns off and restarts...try that if plugging it in dosnt work

It's probably on lock. Go to either the top or the bottom, depending on the type, and change the lock so that it is not orange/yellow

try taking out the battery if possible

the same thing happen to me all you need to do is plug it in the computer
