I forgot to add is that of corse usually when you are starting up on a windows 98 you go though those screens that have info on it like serching of boot record from floppy and stuff like that and then the desktop picture of the oringal profile pops up along with a login to get to your profile well when the picture pops up it is grossly enlarged to the center somewhat I truly hope that helps

Sounds like you were trying to make some space on the hard drive and possibly nailed an important file. It might be booting into safe mode with the large icons? Since this data is pretty important, is there a way you could place it into a friend's PC as a slave drive and copy over the data, and burn it to CD/DVD? It is possible during boot up in a friend's PC that the damaged or missing files might be fixed by the friend's PC. I've done similar things before with hard drives that had corrupted data. Floppy disks for 98? I thought that came on CD? I don't think you have an operating system on those floppies. This could be bad if you have no OS on CD,...no way to reinstall the OS.

You'll need to be a little bit more descriptive, what was the name of the file or folder you deleted? And all you were doing was installing an MP3 driver? Are there any errors that appear on screen when booting up?

restart and hold the f8 key down while it is booting. in the options pick start in safe mode. Then fix what you did by going to your recycle bin and click on undelete. good luck
