my little boy had that it is called undescended testicle. we had to get the testicle "descended" before his first birthday. We took him to a childrens hospital where we consulted with a urologist who scheduled a surgery appt. They made a little cut on his scrotum and a little cut on his pubic area above his genitals. They located the testicle and gently attached it to the bottom of his scrotum. He healed up quickly and is normal (reproductively) in every way. It is nothing to worry over. You want to get it fixed because as he gets older and heavier, the testicle could lose blood flow due to being more compressed in his body. Once this happens he will lose the testicle. It is important for his pride (obviously) that he has both testes.

The next thing that will happen is that your little boy will be checked out by the doctors at the hospital, and they will let you know what to do.

It can be a case of undescended testes. It may come down naturally as the age progresses or may need a small surgical intervention. Now I don't think they will do anything than probably giving some hormone injection.

I had the same with my son. He had yearly checks, and at aged 7 it finally descended! All will be well I'm sure.

It's okay, it's very common, it might still pop down on it's own, if not, then a extremely minor op will be needed. it will not affect his fertility or anything and he will probably never even know about it unless he reads his medical file one day!

I have a cousin who had a testicle that didn't drop. He had to have surgery to correct it. He was only around a year old as well.

i assume that they will run some tests, x-rays maybe, to see if the testes in there and just hasn't dropped yet, or if he really only has one. don't worry, men can be fully functional with only one.

more then likely its up in his abdomen...
what they will do is bring it down and then take a small stitch and attach it to the lower part of the scrotum...Ive had relatives it happened to..
