Take the following possible scenario:

- American troops arrested key leaders in the Al-Qaeda network in Pakistan. Among the captured included Osama, and Ayman al Zwahri.
- Then Pakistani forces somewhat loyal to the Islamist movement claimed jurisdiction and placed the leaders under Pakistani arrest/protection.

The US want to extract the leaders for a trial, but religious leaders in Pakistan don't want them released without a guarantee of a fair trial.

1. What could we do to convince them to give us the al-Qaeda leaders? (special ops is out of the question, economic incentives? help from international org?)
2. Where would we try them? (American court? UN international court? EU court?)
3. Once we choose where to try them, what can we actually charge them with? (Piracy?)

Pakistan receives almost 1 billion dollars in aid annually. Pakistan fears that their temporary alliance will go away once bin laden has been captured.

Does anyone have a viable policy/solution for this?

The Bush clique do not want Osama captured alive, because he would be put on trial. Then the facts would come into view about the long cozy relationship between the Bush clan and the Bin Laden family.

Also, the removal of Bin Laden from his status as the poster boy for terrorism would weaken George Bush by removing the boogieman he uses to scare the American people into surrendering their liberties.

However, Osama is now old and sick and likely to die soon. Watch Bush then suddenly discover a new threat to scare the American people.

Fidel Castro stayed in power for forty years by using the threat of the dread Yanquis to keep his people subjugated. Hitler used the Jews as his "threat". Bush needs somebody to label as the stereotype terrorist figure so he can manipulate the American people in the same way. When it's no longer Osama then a new bad guy will be found so we have someone to fear and hate while we grovel to Emperor George the Decider.

Funny how this scenario could have been averted if Clinton would have just taken him out when he had the chance. Actually, I don't think that Musharref doesn't want anything to do with trying Bin Laden. He hopes Bin Laden dies in the arrest attempt.
