I have wanted my bellybutton pierced since i was 12... well now 4 years later i still dont have it done. is 16 old enough to get it done? I mean its not like i want my tongue pierced or anything, do you think my mom should give in? why or why not?

Legally, it depends on your state. If you go to a tattoo/piercing parlor, they will probably be able to tell you if you're legally old enough or not. Morally, however, you may want to think about why you want this thing so badly. What does it represent to you? Do you think that it can really give you whatever meaning you have given it? These are just things to consider. Also, consider this: you will be 18 soon enough and you will be able to do pretty much whatever you want whether your mom likes it or not. If, for whatever reason, you want to do this, then you will do it at that point because your mom won't really have any way to stop you. For now, however, it really doesn't matter whether your mom gives in or not: what matters is whether you truly respect her wishes and care about her feelings. This is something that apparently troubles her. Consider her feelings for now and whether you have place more value on this thing than it is worth. You will hopefully live a long life and have plenty of time to do as you will with your body...but you will only have one mother ever and no one can ever truly foresee how much time they have with their mother before it's gone.

Yes, that's fine as long as you get it done at place that's been reccommended. Quite a few people I know who have they bellybuttons pierced had it done at the age of 13/14.

I think that if you want your bellybutton pierced you should get it done. I have a Friend who got hers done in the sixth grade. So it is up to you if you think you are old enough to get it done.

My parents hate piercings and they let me get mine when I was 14. As long as you do it at a respectable place, it'll be ok. Just remind your mom it's not like a tattoo, you can take it out when ever you want too and it looks really feminine aswell, oh and offering to pay for it yourself also helps

Don't do what every one else is doing. Be bold be differant.
Ears, belly button, eyebrows, lips, All old stuff.
Put a big bone in your nose like the jungle Africans do.

YEAH!! But you need your parents consent. I have peeps down here in florida that dont care about that but I'm not sure where you live is the same. Just do it and dont tell your mother. She'll get over it.

i think she should...well i got mine when i turned 15..most tattoo shops actually prefer for a person to be 16 when they get their belly pierced i think your ready just make sure you care for it very carefully.
