I have to say for me, it is Dali and my reason is, I love to look and look at his works and keep seeing more and more!!! Some call Dali abstract, I do not find that to be so. It has hidden art, and a deep meaning behind it. Some is very depressing, when you study it long enough! Saw Dali with Picasso exhibt I am a die hard Picasso fan, he was abstract, his sculpures are incredible. Use of colors amazing, and his cubism era awesome! Sorry I had to put Picasso in! Art is like beauty in the eye of the beholder.

Dali was bizarre. I saw video footage of him, and he even created his own dialect when speaking. I loved his work, but I think the guy was too full of himself. VanGogh on the other hand was humble...and a lost romantic at times. I'll go with VanGogh. Although I love Jack Vettriano's work....and Delaroche. I have a huge print of La Jeune Martyre in my living room. Ugh, I'm rambling now. Sorry : )

VanGogh; he really suffered for his art. He meant it!
Dali's great too, but there was always a nudge and a wink tied in with his work.

I never was a big fan of paintings that are abstract or too surreal. So I would go with VanGogh. I do like the fantasy art of Frazetta and the like.
