hi there
Molly's can have between 5-50 baby's at a time
....but u probably did not get to the baby's fast enough ...so they were probably eaten by either the other fish in ur tank or the mother....yes it is normal for the molly to keep breeding while going through pregnancy and just after pregnancy....but keep watching out for more baby's because Molly's can remain pregnant for up to 3 months even though she may have some baby's there is always a chance that there are still baby's in her...so she may have more
hope this helps u!

They can have 1 or 25 It is impossiable for them to have 200 babies or they would be as large as your tank. 25 is the max. however there are exceptions to every rule.
I have yet to have a molly eat any of her babies. My molly had a total of 25 babies and she is still as large as a house! I have them in a salt water tank. I am not sure if that had anything to do with the amount she had and I was kind of shocked. All are alive and doing well.
Chances are your female isn't mateing. Sometimes when the mother is having babies the male will bump her in an attempt to get her to have her young. A female molly can give birth a total of 5 times from one mateing session.
All of my babies were hanging around the heater and filter pipes when they were born. They have since taken over everything!

Mollies are livebearers. They require a spawning box in a large 25 gallon, or larger, breeding tank. The aquarium should be planted as densely as possible and have a thick algae mat. Having a group of floating plants in the corner of the aquarium will promote rearing outside of the breeding tank. Every 60-70 days the female will give birth to 10-60 young that are already approximately one-half inch long. It is common for mollies to eat their young, as well as any other fish that may be in the same tank. Many fish will begin mating again as soon as they produce their fry.

Mollies can have a couple dozen at a time. Look close at the bottom of your tank. When they are first born they sink to the bottom between rocks in your substrate. They stay there untill they are ready to start swimming. If you expect your lady to be birthing soon put her in a hatchery. A small net that hangs from the side in your tank. When she is done birthing put her back in the main tank. The hatchery will protect the babies untill they are bigger. I had one litter and counted about 14 several were eaten by the other fish in the tank. Thats when I gave my mollies and the babies to a friend. I learned about the hatcheries latter when we had angels that were laying eggs.

Mollies and other fish have a tendency to eat young fish. Some breeding grass would give the young a place to hide. They will also hide down in the gravel, so you probably have more than you can see right now. I've never liked to seperate them due to the extra work of a second tank, however seperation is probably your best bet.

All live-bearing fish will eat their young (unfortuantely).
No-one really knows how many young their should be.
If you found them, rescue them from the horrors of an aquarium before they get eaten.
If the mother had an easy delivery of the young...she could very well be mating again..
Keep an eye on any plants in the tank...that's where the young will be.
Good Luck.

i'm fairly a great deal surprised that you've puffers mixed with mollies. Puffers are fairly aggressive fish and could be in a species in reality tank. Mollies are familiar for eating their youthful and also you had more suitable positive wish they do no longer eat your puffers because puffers are poisonous.

A molly will give birth to several fish but they will also eat their babies. They need to be separated from her. A fish store will be able to sell you a netted basket that will do the trick..
