hi..the ps3 and xbox 360 are way too expensive for me right now...is it ok if i buy the PS2 now ?? considering it is an old console now, do they still make games for PS2 or have they stopped ?? thanx !!

Don't get an XBX because it's already dead. There will be only 1 more game for the XBX. MS has pretty much stopped making the XBX and stopped supporting it. The PS2 still has life left in it. The PS2 has so much more titles than the XBX. The PS2 is expected to sell well into 2008. Sony is still making the PS2, and it's still supporting it.
The thing about the 360 costing 60 or 70 bucks a year is just wrong. Obviously, he's not very good at math because 400 bucks divided by 4 years (assuming that the 360 lasts 4 more years) is 100 bucks a year, or 300 bucks divided by 4 years = 75 bucks a year. Second, that's assuming that the 360 lasts 5 years, which I doubt because the XBX only lasted 4 years. Third, the PS2 is 129.99 and it's expected to last 2 more years, which would make it 65 bucks a year.
The best thing to do is to wait a few more months because I'm fairly sure that the PS2 will drop down to 99.99 sometime this year or maybe early next year.
If you don't want to wait for the price drop, then go ahead and get the PS2. It's the only last gen system that still has life left in it. The XBX is dead. The Gamecube is dead.

Do not buy a new PS2. Play once on a demo Xbox 360 at any demo kiosk and you will know why the wait will be fruitful. Even as a video game seller we have stopped selling PS2 and sell only new generation consoles like Xbox 360, PS3 and Wii.

In my opinon I say that it makes totally no sense what-so-ever to buy a PS2 now. Game developers are focusing their attention at the PS3. The last great PS2 game is coming out in March- God of War 2. I think that it is crazy to get a PS2 now but, their are a lot of great titles that are avaliable at low prices for the PS2, so go ahead and buy it. I don't know what game system you've been playing for the past 6+ years that the PS2 has been out, but you have a lot of catching up to do with the gaming world.

of course it makes sense...don worry Sony is still making games for the Playstation..check it out through searches ull find loads of new games comin up for the ps2...and now tht the ps3 has released, the price of the ps2 has decreased pretty low...it now costs around 6000 in india... pretty cheap, huh?! and ps2 already has a HUGE game library of around 1500 games...im sure they'll be enuff for the next 10 yrs even if Sony decides to stop making ps2 games! so go ahead and buy ur dream console!

No it doesn't make sense. If you want to make style get a PS3. You can play PS!, and PS2 games on the PS3. If you get a ps2 now you would be wasting money.

Dude don't listen to them they are stupid. PS3 is out true but guess what i can't afford one either so i have a PS2 it is fine the graphics are awesome and they still make games for it, I luv it. Sure i want a PS3 but right now everyone will have one, just like when the PS2 came out i still hade a nintendo 64 and guess what i still have one. Just cause people'll think your cool isn't worth another $500. So yes get a PS2 and don't listen to those clowns K

They still will continue making games for PS2, but I advice you to wait for 3-4 months by which time the prices of PS3 and Xbox360 will come down and you will be able to afford it.

I would keep the money put $50 away in the bank and let it gain interest. Then once you have enough money take it out and buy either one. If you spend it on the PS2 then you just waste it and anyway the games are no longer going to be produced on that system in 6 months.

do not go for ps2.
definetely go for xbox original. It came out later, has better graphics, and accually has a harddrive in it so you don't have to buy a memory card. They should be around the same price too.
