Depends upon yuur needs. If you need it on the go then a laptop if you only use it at home then a desktop. Also which do you prefer. Some prefer a laptop some prefer a desktop. I built my own and its a desktop. I dont think you can build a laptop yet. But for my needs a desktop is good.

I am sure you want to know if a desktop is better than a laptop since BOTH are PC's. It all depends on your needs now and in the future. Will you be needing or wanting to add upgrades? If so, I would suggest a desktop since adding equipment to a laptop is a bit more involved.
If you are simply speaking of computing power, both are quite capable.

I have both. I like the Laptop for sitting in my recliner and surfing the inet. The Desktop is easier to upgrade and work on and I have larger Hard Drives and Faster DVD/CD and better graphics. I guess it what you really want to do. My Laptop is just a basic get on the inet computer and can print if I want something. Desktop more Programs and larger LCD Monitor.

I have a PC and laptop but I prefer the PC. The laptop takes ages to load. The screen isn't as big and I keep having to charge it up.

I have both types of computers. I prefer the laptop. If you buy a laptop for it's convenience and it is wireless, buy a wireless printer. Then all you have to worry about is keeping the laptop charged. If you travel you should buy a laptop, my father travels all over the world and carries his laptop.

I'd have to say a laptop. Its portable so you can bring it anywhere. However, it can get annoying if it isn't hooked up to a printer. Also, I think that its easier to lose stored information.

Does it have to be mobile?
Do you need the power? (this is not as true as it used to be)
Mainly, these days, it is all about the portability, screen size, max RAM etc...
