McD's is a good starter job.
It would depend what is in your area--job wise and businesses--and who of those would hire part time help or high school students. Just look at some possibilities in your area and go in and talk to someone and apply. You never know until you try.
No, all jobs are not unpleasant.

Low paying jobs tend to suck, the interesting ones pay a lot.

But you need to start somewhere to get the experience that will show you are a good employee and can handle more responsibility and better jobs.
So look at this job as a stepping stone to better jobs in the future.
Do this job the best you can, be happy and when you apply for different jobs in the future, you will get a good recommendation from McD.. Always give your job the best effort you are capable of, If you can't, don't disrespect the job, QUIT.

If this was a reputable company, they should not be offering the job to anyone until the closing date has passed, to give all applicants a fair chance. It is very bad business practice, unless there are several jobs on offer, such as working in a call centre, salesperson etc. As they are a large company, this may be the case. Good luck with the job, I hope it turns out well.
