The animal.

Why would anyone care about a homeless guy?

Good question. I think it depends more on who writes the better story about it. Frankly neither of them (a single dead homeless person, or a single abused animal), is worthy of national news coverage.

OK, everybody, when you have finished throwing rotten tomatoes at me...

An increasing NUMBER of dead homeless people is national newsworthy, but people die all the time, it is sort of the other end of begin born if you remember. Unless there were some bizarre circumstances involved, it is no more national news than my death or yours would be.

Regrettably, the abused dog or cat is in the same boat. A single one would not make news unless somehow somebody wrote about it in such a way that it resonates with a large number of the population.

So in reality, how you answer this question depends on your perception of it when you read it, and very little of anything else.

In a be conscious, confident. there is somewhat no assessment between poverty interior america (or the different First international united states of america) and poverty in third international worldwide places like Haiti and maximum of Africa. interior the U. S., there are government social courses, state and federal information, charity communities, housing information, each and every citizen and resident gets loose guidance in the process the twelfth grade, easy healthcare (no scientific institution will turn everyone away based upon the capacity to pay), a police rigidity, etc. In third international worldwide places, there is none of that. in case you are able to't have the ability to feed your self, you starve. in case you get unwell and might't handle to pay for a doctor, you the two get extra advantageous or you die. in case you are able to't handle to pay for an guidance or according to danger a school uniform, you reside illiterate and uneducated. in case you get attacked, assaulted and killed by potential of a collection of bandits, no one is there to guard you. So confident, on your situation, this is much less tragic to be a drug addicted prostitute interior the U. S. than a drug addicted prostitute in a third international united states of america. the former has suggestions and opportunities that the latter by no potential could have. ETA: LT: i'm not belittling your studies. i'm specific it sucked and that i will confess, although i've got been undesirable in my existence, i replaced into by no potential homeless. yet my factor is, even interior the slums of NYC there are extra opportunities than interior the slums of Monrovia. I additionally keep in mind between the regulars asserting something to the effect that orphanages in Africa could desire to have working water, because of fact working water isn't unprecedented in Africa. this is in simple terms yet another occasion of not having any genuine comprehension of third international united states of america poverty. There somewhat isn't any comparasion.

Unsure. I'd say the homeless person because the liberals can blame that on Bush more thant the abused dog or cat.

Neither, it's the abuser of the dog or cat that would be the top news story not the cat or dog.

An abused dog or cat seems to get more press for some twisted reason that I'll never understand, much less try to.

Unfortunately, the abused dog or cat gets more airtime than a dozen dead homeless people.

Scary, isn't it?

I'd sat an abused animal. News (local news especially) isn't really all that informative. It's usually about fire, murder, and fashion tips.
