I have received different advice/guidance on this from different people. I would be grateful for any input.

You can use crystals, gems, stones etc with reiki. Each of these has a different vibration and energy. They can be used to re-energize an area or help to unblock energy. They can be used to clear chakras. You can use a cleared crystal to channel reiki like a laser in a specific place. Or you can use reiki to charge crystals that you can lay on the body during treatment. Let your inner knowledge tell you what to do. Intention and intuition are two powerful sources that work well together. Find a quiet place in your mind, ask questions, and wait for answers in the quiet of your mind.

Yes. Are you a healer in both methods? If yes, the crystals can be charged with Reiki and then used in the usual grid patterns. Write to me separately with more details of the conflicting advice and I will try to advise you better. I did go though crystal healing and am a Reiki Master.

I don't see why not, but I agree with Jewel, if you know what you are doing well then you can do both, eg if you get sidetracked while doing reilki as what you should do with crystals then it might get in the way etc. It's better to do one well & then combine them but then again I could be wrong.
I recommned these books on crystals:
Melody: Love is in the Earth
Crystal Therapy by Doreen Virtue , Judith Lukomski
The Crystal Bible by Judy Hall

Sure. I often do crystal and energy healing together.

I place the crystals around the person on the massage table, then i place my hands at the shoulders and pass energy through the person and into the crystal beneath their feet, then I scan their aura for cold spots and work to clear those areas.

Every one is wrong occasionally. This is salvation and Frog's day.

If you keep needing to ask suggest you should not be healing with both.

Do what you know or are trained to do or that which you feel guided to do.

Don't make the mistake of thinking you know what is best for each individual - unless you are a qualified GP, herbalist, homeopathic doctor.

Study Reiki - practise well

Study Crystals - practise crystal healing

Do each separately then after much practise you may feel in tune with a particular client who may benefit from both.

I don't know too much about reiki, but I am comfortable with meditation and energy work in general.
So in my books, the crystals amplify whatever energy work you're doing, I don't see why would it be different in this case.

Cheers,
Good luck,

I agree with salvation and frogg - I am a qualified masseur and student of so called alternative therapies such as aromatherapy but in my opinion reiki and crystal healing are a load of nonsense.
