1)FIFA actually has no laws against the hijab..It isn't mentioned anywhere on the rules. So the position is not very clear.
When asked to make a formal ruling because of 'hijab incident' they refused..and said that any decisions made by referees were final.

LAW 4 in the regulations concerning acceptable clothing does ban jewelry etc for safety reasons.. and a hijab is not listed anywhere on the list of accepted clothing. but there is a picture of a footballer wearing a bandana.. as an example of accepted head gear.

Whilst there are no rules specifically allowing hijab ..A FIFA spokeswoman Cristina Ramos said this about the hijab during a visit promoting the women's games in Pakistan
'Women would be given due rights and respect in the field of football and scarf’s and trousers would be given according to Islamic principles and ethics.'

On the FIFA website they show pictures of Iranian women playing football in hijab as part of a campaign to promote football there.

Three Jordanian women wore hijab in a recent international against Japan played in Tokyo

When a referee sent a woman off for wearing a hijab in Australia..the football association there disciplined the referee

In both Ontario and British Columbia hijab (and any other religious clothing ie turban) are allowed.

So really there are no laws against the hijab in football it was the referee who decided to ban it.

2)Sport is good for you..and muslim women want to play football because they enjoy it. They are human :)

Football is for everybody and meant to be inclusive. Many football authorities and other organisations have done much possitive work in encouraging Muslim women to participate..
Everton have sponsered a Muslim women's football team

Iran has creates a wome's games to enable women to compete in sport and keep islamic rules at the same time

Nike have designed a special kit to allow Muslim women in Somali refugee camps to take part in sporting activities

There are now special sporting womens hijabs..that are sleek and so not a safety hazard.

What harm does it cause by muslim women taking part in football. If there are any safety issues couldn't they just sign a legal waiver?

fifa rule has seemed pleasing in your heart and conceived an evil thought for you,i say let women live and respect all religions and faiths, what you don't know you fear, fifa is not god and they are not perfect themselves.sit down my friend and think if it was your sister whom this situation is happenning too, what would you say then, don't believe everything the media says about muslims is true. they are very nice and bad people from every country in this world.be wise amigo.god puts no burden on anyone beyond what he has already given him, what is scarf going to tight your legs up from playing soccer cmon.i respect everyone except those who hate JUVENTUS,otherwise joga bonito for everyone women, disabled, aliens whatever dude.women who wear scarfs are sexy anyway as long it's not helmet so peace and love in the world, when it comes to football it's different.i can be a hooligan if someone try to mess with my black and white fighters.JUVE 4 life.ciao

for me the question is .......
what does she want.

for following strict muslim rules she must wear a hijab....
however, following the same strict muslim rules would mean she can not wear shorts and play football, nor associate with infidels!

As long as there's no helmets. Imagine the damage Zidane could have done if he had one.

Wow, it's been a long time since I commented on that. Thanks for giving me an opening.
