1. We stop making brain cells when we're dead. Usually after we hit rigor-mortis.
2. We lose brain cells by depleting oxygen to the brain- hense "brain dead". We deplete oxygen by certain diseases, drinking, drugs, and smoking. There's ton of causes.
3. Good question it depends upon person to person, depending upon which parts of our brain we can actually use. Some people lack certain skill mental skills in one cortex of the brain so the brain makes up for it and constantly refreshes more cells to the part of the brain that it can actually use. That's why when 1 of your 5 senses goes, whatever senses you have left are so much stronger than they were before. We have cells in that part of the brain that work to refresh themselves it's not like how a plant a grows. Fresh cells are what keeps the mind working.
4.Because Omega 3 Fatty Acids, which are found in most fish, are essential for brain function. If you do eat any fish make sure that it is "Wild" not "Farm Raised". Wild is better for your body and mind.
