What's the most recent, "real", Pokemon game?

I'm just now getting back into the series. I'm really excited for Diamond/Pearl to come out in America, but that's in April. *resist tears*

So, what's the most recent, "real", Pokemon game? I don't mean Mystery Dungeon or Ranger or Pinball or whatever the hell else is out, I mean like Red and Blue and Yellow versions. The ones that stick to the classic formula. Thanks, guys!

Ruby and Sapphire came out in 2004, with Emerald (basically the same game with a few minor changes) coming out in 2005. The next REAL Pokemon Games will be Diamond and Pearl which should be coming out later this year.

I'd go with either Fired Red or Leaf Green. They are both revamped versions of the original Red and Blue with some additions and much needed color improvements.

the most recent is third generation. that's ruby, sapphire, emerald, fire red, and leaf green. they have communication with pokemon colosseum, and pokemon XD, both of which are on the gamecube

of the third generation, emerald is the most recent, tagged by fire and leaf. ruby and sapphire were fore-runners of this group

Well from what i read from nintendo power the new ones are the ones in your ? but before those well its just emerald,fire, and leaf.
