lol. As long as you have a dvd drive, you don't need a media player. What you need is the DVD software, which most laptops today have already preinstalled. If it's not installed, that most likely means one of two things: your laptop has only a cd drive, not a dvd drive or you had the software but you deleted it to make space on your computer. If the second one is the case, all you need to do is insert a dvd that was made by the InterActual DVD company such as Batman Begins. In order to play movies made by InterActual on your laptop, you have to download their software from the dvd itself. After you do so, you'll be able to watch any dvd you want. But before you do any of this, try inserting the dvd into your dvd drive. Wait a minute or two. The movie should start automatically. If not, go to "My Computer" and look at all the drives on your computer. If you see the name of the movie you are watching listed in the dvd drive (usually your drive will say something like e:// drive), then you know you have a dvd player. If your computer doesn't recognize the dvd, switch dvds and repeat the process. If it doesn't recognize any of the dvds, then you don't have a dvd drive. You only have a cd drive. Hope I helped. Oh, and by the way, you don't need any media player like "Windows Media Player" or "Quicktime" or "Real Player" to watch dvds. Those are for online videos.

A very good, and free, video player called "VLC Player" is available for download at the below link. It'll work fine for you to watch DVD's on your laptop. Have fun.
