Against! A proven divisive concept currently proposed and supported by liberal far left socialists democrats.
As vile and anti-republic as the balance of their agenda, it does demonstrate their class warfare/hate mentality towards America.

Bad idea, if they really want the "rich" to do their share of military service they should force ALL colleges to accept recruiters on campus. Ivy League schools are where the rich kids go to college, and anti-war liberals who teach and learn there have kicked the recruiters off campus.

The military works fine now and is filled with dedicated individuals BECAUSE it is voluntary, look back to the 70's and understand the modern reasoning why they did away with the draft in the first place. Those reasons still stand true today.

Military service is a stepping stone to the middle class for the poor, there are other ways to get to the middle class, for sure....but some people are not cut out for college, and for them to be denied the ability to enjoy a middle class lifestyle because they're not the college type isn't really the American way.

I think that, in a time of a REAL war, where our shores are threatened and our country under seige, all citizens should be called to defend.

In the case of illegal invasions of other countries, the only purpose for a draft would be to bring a quick end to the action. If all the big-mouth war supporters got a draft notice to show up and actually serve, there would be a huge sucking sound from the number of people who would head for Canada and Mexico to avoid it...It is one thing to talk big about "supporting the war", it is another thing altogether to be SENT there and expose your own butt to bullets and bombs.

Others would hit the streets in mass protests like they did during the Vietnam mess and the war in Iraq would come to an end so quick your head would spin.

I don't listen to any war supporters at all unless they are in uniform. Others who claim to support the war are only giving lip service.

I would support it...I'm a big supporter of the Military but I do think we have been using our military power quite willy-nilly and if you installed the draft it would get EVERYONE involved, none of this "I support the war, but I'm doing my part working and staying home"....With the draft it forces people to form an opinion and warfare would actually be considered important enough that the average american citizen might feel the need to get off their lazy *** and actually vote.

The draft is nothing more than involuntary servitude to the state, which is unlawful and unConstitutional. Go read the 13th Amendment.

im against a war alltogether, and a draft would be a really stupid idea because it abuses our rights more than they already have been. why dont we just bomb that place and leave, it would save lives and money and ittl do the world a favour

If this nation can not raise enough volunteers to defend itself, then we have absolute proof that our society is too sick to survive. I will fight any and every attempt to start up any new system of conscription.

I do feel that as citizens and voters, we do have the responsibility to elect only those who have served to national office. Whatever the party, vote for the Veteran first.

I was drafted and it allowed me to see what I might not have.

I'm fine with that. Right now the military is targeting poor, particularly minority soldiers. The largest recruiting station is on 125th St. in Harlem.

Oh and I'm not saying all enlisted are poor minorities, my entire family has served at one point and we are neither.
