I don't believe Alinsky is a communist. Furthermore, most students write their thesis when they are rather young (compared to others). As times passes, people mature and often change their minds about people and issues.
Hilary is running as a candidate for the presidency. It is her right as is the right of any other candidate. She may or may not win. If I were her I wouldn't hide anything. These days we can find out just about everything about anybody.
ALL of the candidates have something to hide

She didn't want it public because she polled and found out that it would be bad for her campaign. If the poll numbers were better it wouldn't matter she would have put it in a press release. after seeing some of the other answers it seems that as long as the person in question is a democrat past intercessions are fine.

I'm not sure if she did or did not take any steps to keep it private, I do know that I did some pretty stupid things in the 60's that I wouldn't want to get out either, I took some stands based on youthful idealism, some based on what I didn't understand, some based on just plain wishful thinking, I don't think I'd want them thrown back in my face forty years later. In Hillary's case you just know that somehow what she thought forty years ago would be blasted on air as if she just thought of them yesterday. Then would come the repudiations of her teenage angst, then the charges "She flip-flopped" then the defense et al ad infinitum.

Hillary and Obama both took money from AIPAC. They both advocate full unquestioned US support of Israel. The Republicans are bought by the same AIPAC money..
Which candidates are really looking out for US interests?
At least Bugs Bunny can't take a bribe. Bugs Bunny '08!

I agree with "arglebargle" If you bothered to research Alinsky, you would find that he is not a Communist...This is a typical O'Reilly tactic of not allowing reason to cloud opinion. He wrote about the "Jungle" about the days of beef packing plants in the '30s and how it affects today. I worked in beef plants in the 70's and know that if there were no controls over compamies, they will work you to death to make money...I have been in a group of union people who were tear gassed simply because we came to work and found the gates locked after we did not approve a wage freeze...Unions aren't evil, sure they can get out of hand, but the same can be said of companies.....People who are always anti-union are anti-worker and only think of profits.
the reason she did not want info on this out is that someone like you would spin Alinsky into a Communist and the ignorant wouldn't bother to find the truth themselves...

Most people when they're younger are more experimentative and more liberal on average. Bush did lots of drinking and I believe cocain, so did Obama. I'm sure pleanty of other politicians did crazy **** when they were younger. Hillary may not exactly be moderate but she's NOT communist.

Hillary, much like Lieberman is a non issue...people are sick of leaders who fight wars on behalf of Israels, and the oil companies interest.
Hillary is just like Bush...a danger to America and its freedoms..she is still a strong advocate of the patriot act, the war in Iraq, and the military commissions act.
