Well, no I haven't met Papa Smurf, but I did speak to him on the phone!! Back when the Smurfs were on t.v. I worked for a company in Santa Barbara, home of many celebrities. A new client called and we spoke for quite awhile. I kept thinging that he sounded really familiar. Turned out he was Don Messick, who was the voice of Papa Smurf!

YEah, I met him once. He is retired now and sipping pina colatas in Panama City Florida; living off the royalities from his show and licensing the trademark phrase "Papa Smurf! Papa Smurf!"

I met him once... we were in the grocery store, and he asked me to get a jar of peanut butter off the top shelf for him. Then he hitched a ride in my shopping buggy and ate twenty dollar's worth of potato chips that I had to pay for when I got to the checkout.
