The short answer is "yes, there are lots of things you can do". However, there are restrictions and there are jobs that children your age may not legally perform.
Here's a summary of child labor laws.

They do indicate that there are possibilities for your employment (with some restrictions). There are federal guidelines. States have their own guidelines. Take a look at the 17 prohibited jobs (for those under 18) and the so you have an idea what not to look for in a job.
Most states have child labor laws. A few states solely rely on the federal laws found in the FLSA. State child labor laws may be more restrictive or less restrictive than the federal child labor laws (FLSA). In other words, states may have different minimum ages for employment, different hours of work restrictions, and additional occupations identified as hazardous.

If the employment falls under FLSA jurisdiction, then both federal and state laws apply--and the most restrictive law (whether it is the state or the federal) is followed.

i think of 14 is to youthful to get a summer season interest. She could desire to be out striking with acquaintances and being a youngster. no longer working at McDonalds making no money and dealing with unfavorable people. i think of sixteen is a good age to your first interest. She has worked rather stressful all college year to get good grades, i think of she needs a smash. you are able to attempt and clarify that money is getting tight around the domicile, and that she will have money of her very own to spend, yet while she does not desire a job, i does no longer make her.

other than farming or working for your parents if they own a business, i think mcdonald's is one of the few places that'll hire at 14. try your local pool/community center to see if they have jobs available, too.

Have you tried the movie theater? That is where I worked when I was your age and I had a blast!
