They don't expect to do so, it's called "lip service". Fomenting civil war and widespread violence in the Middle East is the core mission of all this "War on Terror" claptrap. Throw out the warmongering pigs before they sink our nation entirely..

where did you get your facts? From the back of the Kool Aid box? Got to love the internet. Its posted, therfore it must be fact.If it did happen, I'm sure the story is much more detailed than your little selective statement, but telling the whole truth wouldn't fit your agenda, now would it?
I tell you a little secret.....Civilians die in war! All the time. While we try and avoid directly and knowingly targeting them, they do in fact get killed. Indirectly, sometimes directly for a variety of reasons. Thats why its a war zone. Many of these civilians are not so innocent either. The old days of properly formed armies, in full dress fighting each other is long over. Even in those days, millions of civilains were killed.
What is your definition of a civilian anyway? If a person is making weapons or feeding insurgents, is he a civilian? What differentiates a insurgent today from a civilian next week? Maybe you can enlighten the US military and they can make you a general or something. Go show them how its done....
Oh thats right, as a liberal, you are only capable of talk, not actual action or results. Think what you may of Bush. At least he had the stones to take a stand, stick with it and is attempting, despite treasonous attacks by libs, to seee it through. That is better than any liberal in recent memory...

Humanist you can't wage war and not kill the innocent. It is war.
The Military is operating with VERY STRICT rules of engagement
and time and again this has been demonstrated, why your friends at the ACLU want to GIVE constitutional rights to Enemy Combatants who have no standing in the Geneva Accords which have been extended to them by folks of your philosophical bent.
You also forget that getting rid of the OPIUM production which is financing the Pious Taliban is not winning the "Hearts and Minds" either of the Farmers there, and creates problems HERE with Heroin Addiction. You also forget that the Terrorists use HUMAN SHIELDS to offer cover, But that does not bother a Humanist like yourself.

Here's the deal: we said to the Iraqis that we are hear to rescue you, and how do they respond? By creating a civil war of Sectarian Violence that has left 59,000 civilians dead! THEY DON'T WANT DEMOCRACY!

We're not in Afghanistan to win hearts and minds. We're there to hunt down and destroy terrorists that threaten our country. And the people in Afghanistan & Pakistan should either help us do it, or at the very least, stay the hell out of the way.

War is Hell, Americans are human, and no one really wears uniforms any more in these areas. It's a brand new age of war, and it's just as hellish as ever. If it's any consolation, you haven't killed anyone, and as far as you can tell, no one has killed you. Just be happy.
