I'll make a deal with you. Instead of running for the U.S. Senate like I had planned, if you will pay all my bills and expenses while I'm not working, I'll run for President instead.

Seriously, you don't have to be rich to run for President, but it sure helps. The more a person has to scramble to earn a living, the less likely they will devote time to politics. This has pretty much been the case throughout history. Even revolutionaries have to take time to earn (or steal) groceries. Candidates have to devote their full time to running and someone, somehow has to pay the bills. It's kinda difficult to run for President and work a full time job. (being on the Senate or House of Representatives payroll doesn't count)

See my website to learn about a poor politician instead of a rich one.

I agree, it's an unjust part of presidential elections especially. Check out my question about supporting campaign finance caps, as you might like this issue. http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=AlqqufVqGc5QGlkCQj51TRjS7BR.?qid=20070304122226AA8UM2n

I agree with you. Really it's our fault though. We let them get away with it.
